EICCPast EICC Activity
SEARG entered the High Power Portable category of the EI Counties Contest from Mt. Leinster, Co. Carlow on Sunday the 28th of August 2005.
John (EI8JA), Nicky (EI3JB) and Mark (EI7IS) operated EI2WRC/P. Setting up the station proved difficult in rain and hurricane force winds at an altitude of approx. 2500 ft on the North Face of the mountain, however the station was soon up and running and we managed 37 QSOs in 19 Counties.
SEARG entered the Spring Leg of the 2004 contest from White Mountain, Co. Wexford. Using the
club callsign EI2WRC/P operators were John EI8JA, Nicky EI3JB and Mark EI7IS.
We took 2nd place in the 'Low Power Portable' section
with 61 QSOs and 14 Counties. The winner in the LP Portable section was Joe EI7GY with 50 QSOs into 19 counties.
Congratulations to Joe.
Hampered by severe winds, frequent showers and restricted to operating from the back of
the Jeep, we again used White Mountain as our operating location for the Autumn leg of the 2004
counties contest on August 29th last.
Operators were John EI8JA, Eoin EI7FXB
and Mark EI7IS. This time we broke with tradition and entered in the High Powered
Portable category. We are pleased to announce that with our score of 4845 points
we came out in the top position!
We again entered the high-power portable category of the Spring Leg of the 2005 contest from Mt.
Leinster, Co. Carlow. Again we took first place in this category with 42 QSOs in 21 Counties
giving a total score of 4578 points.
